LYRICAL SIGNAGE is a new group of works specifically created for the Ninth Annual Mountain Jam on June 6-9, 2013. Rooted in the sign making techniques learned at his family’s sign company, the posters Michael Hunt has created take pieces of lyrics from this year’s lineup of musical artists and place them over distorted images of Catskill landscapes. The work will attempt to draw the viewer into the lyrics by looking at the actual words in the context of a sign and perhaps create synchronicity when read at the same moment a performer is singing them live.
